Obituary for Martin "Marty" Quello

Calumet

Martin "Marty" Quello, 76, a resident of Temple Street Calumet passed away at his residence on Wednesday evening February 13, 2002.

He was born on July 25, 1925 in Calumet a son of the late
Battista & Dominica AMinnie@ (Picchiottino) Quello

He attended the Calumet schools.

Martin was employed at the C & H Mines as a rail road section worker, and later at Copper Range rail road & Calumet Village until he retired in 1981.

He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army during WWII and the Korean War.

On May 28, 1950 he married Audrey Schmitt in Milwaukee, she preceded him in death on January 10, 2000.

He was a member of the St. Paul the Apostle Church, National Catholic Society of Foresters,
Christopher Columbus Society, VFW Post 3900 of Calumet, and had been a member of Sons of the American Legion Drum Core Post 61.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, 2 Brothers Joe & John, 2 Sisters Pauline Zubiena & Marie Blessent.

Marty was known for being outspoken and his practical jokes. He was a kind hearted loving man who was always there for his family & friends when they needed him.

He will be sadly missed by his children, grandchildren & great grandchildren

Surviving are:

2 Daughters: Marlene (Mike) West of Calumet
Linda (Tim) Porter of Calumet

5 Grandchildren: Kevin (Paula) Porter, Kurt Porter
Shelly West, Marty West & Joni West.

3 Great Grandchildren: Timmy, Travis, & Jade Porter.

Brother in law: Dominic Zubiena of Calumet

Sister in law: Belva Quello of Las Vegas, Nevada

Several nieces, nephews & cousins.

At Martins request there will be no public funeral service or visitation.

Graveside services will be held in the spring in the Lake View Cemetery.

The Erickson-Crowley Funeral Home is assisting the family.
