Obituary for Dennis Keith Antilla

Dennis Antilla, 66, a resident of Calumet passed away at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility on Monday January 26, 2015 following a courageous battle with cancer.

Dennis was born on October 16, 1948 in Laurium the youngest son of the late Arvo and Sylvia (Roytio) Antilla.

He graduated from Calumet High School with the class of 1966. Dennis was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Dennis was a truck driver working for his brother in law Ken Rowe at Rowe Moving and Storage, at Osceola Fiberglass and most recently at Calumet Machine until his retirement in 2010.

Dennis was a member of the Twin Pines Hunting Camp at Lac La Belle, VFW Post 3900 of Calumet and past member of the Calumet Village Fire Dept.

Dennis was a jovial, kind and caring man who was always willing to give a hand before being asked. He enjoyed dancing, gardening, picking berries, fishing, hunting and being outdoors.

Preceding him in death was his parents, brothers: Clayton, Clifford and Melvin, sister Betty Olivares and nephews Ronald and Gregory Miller.

Brother: Elroy (Pat) Antilla of Mohawk
Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services for Dennis will be held on Friday January 30, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet with Pastor Peter Vorhes to officiate.

Friends may call at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet on Thursday from 5-8 PM and one hour prior to the funeral on Friday.

Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery Veterans Section.
