Donald Roy Chevalier 65, a resident of Waterford, Michigan and formally of Calumet, passed away peacefully at his home on January 24, 2015.

Donald was born in Laurium on February 12, 1949 a son of the late Earl and Elina (Kangas) Chevalier.

Don attended and graduated from Lake Linden High School in 1967.

After high school, Donald moved to lower Michigan, where he was a long time employee of Oakland County as a Custodial Supervisor for 32 years before retiring in 2008.

Donald was a very kindhearted man who was loved by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. Donald loved dining and sharing special moments with friends and family. Donald was a animal lover and had a extra special place in his heart for his beloved dog Frankie.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, along with brothers Joseph Chevalier, Rueben Williams and sister Evie Marlor.

Donald was survived by four nephews, Michael (Jessica) of Marquette, Stephen of Gwinn, James of Calumet and William (Sheri) also of Calumet.

Two grand nephews Garrett and Cody, two grand nieces Elizabeth and Kayla,

and special sister in law Yvonne Chevalier of Lake Linden along with numerous close cousins.

A funeral service will be held at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home on Sunday February 1, 2015 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Peter Vorhes to officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00-2:00 PM.
