Gerald “Jerry” D. Laurie, 57, a resident of Kingman, Arizona and former resident of the Copper Country, passed away on October 20, 2016 at the V.A. Center in Prescott, Arizona.
He was born on January 27, 1959 in Laurium, a son to Donald and Eleanore (Dudick) Laurie.
Jerry graduated from Calumet High School with the class of 1977. After high school graduation, he joined the U.S. Air Force, which he served in for 14 years.
Jerry moved from Michigan to California in 2005. He later moved to Arizona in 2008. He enjoyed music and had his own recording studio in his home. He could play anything and everything, but his favorite instrument was the guitar. Music was his life! Jerry also enjoyed tinkering in his garage and caring for his cat, Mandy.
He is preceded in death by his father, Donald Laurie, Sr. and his Aunt and Uncle, Mildred and Emil Plante, who were his godparents.
He is survived by two daughters, Kristie and Geri Laurie of East Tawas, Michigan; grandson, Gage of East Tawas, MI; mother, Eleanore Laurie of Kingman, Arizona; brothers, Donald (Lynn) Laurie of Vacaville, California and Terry (Lori) Laurie of Allouez; aunt, Barbara Laurie of Laurium; cousin, Dale (Carol) Plante of Calumet; nephew, Donald (Michelle) Laurie, Jr. of Vacaville, CA; and 3 nieces, Connie (Daniel) Deal of Vacaville, CA, Jessie Laurie of Marquette, MI, and Jamie Laurie of Platteville, WI.
A memorial service will be held in the spring of 2017.
