Bootjack
Kenneth Tikkanen, age 76, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2017 at his home in Bootjack.
Ken was born to Armand and Esther (Paulson) Tikkanen on November 9, 1940 in Calumet.
He attended Calumet High School.
After high school he worked as a bricklayer for a while before going into the United States Navy.
After his discharge from the Navy he met Dorothy Tromley and they dated for a few years before they got married on June 22, 1968 in Mount Clemens, Michigan.
He went to work as a truck driver for JC Corneill Trucking Company in Warren, Michigan where he eventually retired.
Ken loved to garden, hunt, and watch his sports. He was an avid Red Wings fan and of NASCAR as well.
His parents preceded him in death.
Surviving are: His beloved wife Dorothy
Brothers: Russell Tikkanen of Laurium, and Roger (Marion) Tikkanen of Apache Junction, Arizona
Sisters: Barbara (Gary) Bellesille of Fort Myers, Florida, Shirley Beusch of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, Joyce Vallerand of Auburn, Maine, and Ruth (Frank) Crane of Apache Junction, Arizona
And numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
As he requested cremation has taken place and no public services will be held.
The family would like to extend thanks to the Home Health and Hospice workers that took such great care of him.
