CALUMET November 19, 2017

Ethel Eskola, 97, of Calumet died November 19, 2017 at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility where she had been a resident for almost two years.

Ethel was born in Paynesville on April 3, 1920, the daughter of Toivo and Lillian Hill.

She lived most of her childhood in Detroit.

Ethel married Arthur Eskola on June 7, 1941. The couple lived in Redford Township until moving to Calumet in 1977.

Ethel was a member of the First Apostolic Lutheran Church of Calumet.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Art in 2004; her parents; her brother, Richard (Mildred) Hill; and her granddaughter, Marcie Elaine Heinonen.

Surviving are two sons: Richard and Judy of Calumet and James and Ann of West Bloomfield Township;

two daughters: Carol Eskola of Howell and Barbara and William Heinonen of Calumet;

grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

The funeral service for Ethel will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday November 22, 2017 in the First Apostolic Lutheran Church of Calumet with Pastor David Taivalkoski officiating.

Friends may call on Tuesday November 21, 2017 from 5 to 8 PM at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church in Calumet and one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery.
