Obituary for Lois Vogler

Lois Vogler 88 a resident of Chassell and former resident of Winona, Minnesota passed away on Wednesday morning April 12, 2006 at the Omega House in Houghton, MI.

She was born on June 29, 1917 in Kansas City, Missouri a daughter of the late Charles August and Lena Eva (Sellmeyer) Lyon.

Lois attended school in Kansas City and later received her certificate in secretarial work.

She lived in Houston, Texas and Fairbanks, Alaska and later returned to Kansas City working for the Rock Island Railroad until 1977 when she retired. She later lived in Salina, Kansas and in Winona, Minnesota and in 2001 she moved to Chassell to be with her daughter due to failing health.

Lois always had a sense of humor and was devoted to her family. She enjoyed working cryptograms and crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed gardening and planting and dinners out in the Keweenaw=s restaurants.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister: Irene (Lyon) Borchert.

Surviving are:

A daughter: Marilyn Vogler of Chassell

A son: Joe Vogler of Hilo, Hawaii

2 Grandchildren: Seth Urion of Shanghai, China
Frank Urion Iowa City, Iowa

There will be no public services at this time and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy the family suggests donations to Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly or to the Omega House.
