Calumet

Lorraine L. Young 87, a resident of Boundary St. Calumet passed away on Thursday June 30, 2005 at Keweenaw Memorial Medical Center following an illness for the past two weeks.

The former Lorraine Conda was born on January 6, 1918 in Phoenix, Michigan a daughter of the late John and Christina (Furno) Conda.

Lorraine Attended the Calumet Public Schools.

She was born and raised in Phoenix and moved to Calumet in 1957 where she made her home since. She enjoyed watching sports and especially her grandchildren and her great grandchildren play.

On October 5, 1937 she was married to William Young in Calumet.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart church in Calumet.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband and three brothers Louis, James, and Dominic and Sister Mary Peterman.

Surviving are:

1 Son: Gary (Sharon) Young of Lexington, Kentucky

3 Daughters: Barbara (Donald) Kauppila of Chandler, Arizona
June (William) Verran of Baltic, Michigan
Donna (Michael) O=Steen of Perry, Florida

1 Sister: Minnie Lydick of Marquette, Michigan

11 Grand Children

24 Great Grandchildren

Several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday July 5, 2005 at 11:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Church with the Fr. Abraham Muparathara to officiate.

Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery.
