Obituary for Wendell B. Isaacson

Calumet

Wendell B. Isaacson, 82, a resident at Northridge Pines Assisted Living in Calumet passed away Tuesday evening June 17, 2003.

He was born on December 9, 1920 in Detroit, a son of the late Walter & Lila (Ruonavaara) Isaacson.

He attended the Detroit schools.

Wendell was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army during WW II.


On September 18, 1948 Wendell was married in Highland Park, Michigan to the former Eleanor Besonen of Gay and she preceded him in death on December 20, 1997.

After the war he worked for a short time at Ford Motor Co. and in 1948 he worked for Detroit Lead Pipe Works until 1985 when he retired.

Wendell lived in Redford Twp. until 1996 when he moved to Gay and in 2001 he moved to Calumet.

He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Redford Township.

Wendell enjoyed collecting antiques, fishing & maintaining a sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents & 2 brothers: Calvin & Eldon Paul.

2 Sons: Larry (Frances) Isaacson of Toronto, Ontario
Jay (Karen) Isaacson of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin

1 Daughter: Janis (Dudley) Martin of Iron Mountain

9 Grandchildren: Fiona, Charles, Carrie (William), Alex, Eli, Nathan,
Samuel, Jessie & Lauren

1 Great Grandchild: Benjamin

2 Brothers: Barton (Betty Ruth) Isaacsen of North Carolina
Donald Isaacsen of Birmingham, Michigan

1 Sister: Needra Aulmann of California

Many nieces, nephews & cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday June 25, 2003 at 11:00 AM in the Erickson-Crowley Funeral Home in Calumet with the Rev. David Weber to officiate.

Friends may call on Tuesday June 24, 2003 from 5-8 PM in the Erickson-Crowley Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services on Wednesday.

Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Northridge Pines Assisted Living Staff and Keweenaw Home Nursing & Hospice for their care.
