Obituary for Armondo H Zei

Armondo H. Zei, 86, a resident of Kearsarge Street Laurium passed away Thursday evening September 8, 1994 at Marquette General Hospital where he was a patient for the past week. He was born on August 14, 1908 in Calumet a son of the late Dina & Zeffiro Zei and was a graduate of Calumet High School with the class of 1926. He was a life long resident of Calumet & Laurium area. He was employed by Upper Peninsula Power Company for 38 years as a salesperson retiring in 1973. He was a musician having played in the Peoples theater in Laurium, for many civic organizations and many different local bands. He was married to the former Eleanor Dimmer on Oct. 16, 1937 in Sacred Heart Church of Calumet and she passed away on Jan. 29, 1984. On June 25, 1986 he married the former Lucille LeVeque Hendra in the Sacred Heart Church of Calumet. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Church of Calumet, Sacred Heart Church Mens Club, a former church usher, Past President & member of the CLK Rotary Club, Keweenaw Sportsmans club, Christopher Columbus Society & the Skinny Club, CLK Senior Citizens & was a volunteer helper for the Laurium Fire Department & was past treasurer & board member of the Great Lakes Mutual Insurance Company. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral mass will be held Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church of Calumet with Father Marian Douglas to officiate. Burial to be in the Lake View Cemetery in Calumet. Friends may call at the Erickson-Crowley Funeral Home on Monday from 4 to 9 P.M. A prayer service will be held at 7 P.M. and Christopher Columbus Society will have a memorial service at 7:15 P.M. Monday evening in funeral home.
