Genevieve M. Zanotti, 87, former Calumet resident passed away Tuesday morning following a short illness at the Divine Savior Nursing Home in Portage, Wi where she has been a resident for the past four years.
She was born in Calumet a daughter of Anthony and Mary (Bandoni) Zanotti. She had attended the local schools of Calumet, being a graduate of Calumet High School and the Calumet Public Hospital Nurses Training School. After receiving her R.N. in nursing, she had brief employment in Lansing and Pontiac, Michigan, beginning her nursing career with the Calumet & Hecla, Inc. Hospital, she was on the staff for over forty years and became Head Nurse in 1935. She later was employed for Universal Oil Company in various capacities until termination of employment in 1969 due to the strike in 1968.
She was a member
of the Community Church of Calumet,
the Elizabeth Rebekah Lodge
and a past member of the Industrial Nurses Association.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Francis.
She is survived by

a niece: Mrs. Patsy (Paul) Hanis; Livonia, MI
great nieces, nephews and cousins in California, Decatur, Ill. and Florida
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday afternoon with the Rev. Milo VanVeldhuizen of the Community Church of Calumet Officiating.
Interment will be in Lake View Cemetery
Friends may call from 1:00 until 2:00 on Thursday afternoon at the Erickson Crowley Funeral Home in Calumet.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy the family suggests Memorial Gifts be made to the Community Church in Calumet.
