November 30, 1986 Laurium
Mrs. Eleanor L. Ingersoll, 78, a resident of Hecla St. Laurium, passed away Sunday morning following a 4 month illness.
The former Eleanor Peterson was born on September 2, 1908 in Calumet, a daughter of the late Ida & Anton Peterson. She was a graduate of Calumet High School with the class of 1926. As an infant she moved with her parents to Laurium where she has made her home. She had worked for the Houghton County Department of Social Services for 27 years retiring in 1973.
On May 19, 1944 she was married to Turner Ingersoll in Norway, MI. He passed away on October 29, 1961.
Mrs. Ingersoll was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church of Calumet; the L.C.W. of the Church; and the Calumet Ingot Business & Professional Women’s Club.
She was preceded in death by 1 stepson, Harry T. Ingersoll.
Surviving are:
2 step grandchildren;
6 step great grandchildren;
Several nieces & nephews.
Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery of Calumet.
