Margaret "Betty" (Koskela) Zeitz, 86, a resident of Pembroke, Ontario passed away peacefully on Wednesday May 27, 2015, at the Pembroke Regional Hospital in Ontario Canada with her family at her side.

She was born in Chicago on July 16, 1928 to her parents Albert and Elizabeth (Rengo) Koskela. In her early years the family moved to Traprock Valley and operated Capitol Farm. Betty ran the farm for several years.
She attended the Traprock Valley School and Lake Linden School.
She worked at Bell Telephone in Houghton and in Ann Arbor.
On September 9, 1961 she married Leigh Zeitz and he preceded her in death on February 23, 2009.

She was a beloved wife, loved mother, cherished Nana, dear sister, and devoted aunt to many.

She was a member of the First Apostolic Lutheran Church.

She is preceded in death by: her husband, Leigh; Siblings, Arlene (Harold) Naasko and Cynthia (Danny) Miller; and Brother-in-law, Jim Hafner.

She is survived by:
Children: Mary Beth Stewart, of Westmeath, Ontario, Ardes (Ted) Cooper of Lake Clear, Ontario; and Heather (Ken) Bovair, of North Bay, Ontario.

Grandchildren: Kara, Tyler, Kelsey, Emma, Elliot and Rhianna.

Siblings: Shirley Ann (Frank) Honkala of Ishpeming, Beegu (Jimmy) Keranen of Traprock Valley, Albert (Margaret) Koskela of Traprock Valley, Pearl (Eddie) Loukus of Kearsarge and Enid (Paul) Pennala of Northville, MI.

Sister-in-law: Dorothy Hafner,

Brothers-in-law: Bob (Daphne) Zeitz and Bud (Renie) Zeitz.

And numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday June 2, 2015 at 1:00 pm in Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Keranen to officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the services at 1:00 PM.

A graveside service will follow at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Lake Linden.
