Mary Ann Thomas, 81, a resident of Raymbaultown passed away at the Omega House in Houghton on Friday August 7, 2015.
She was born on August 25, 1933 in Calumet a daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Rozman) Lanfranki.
She graduated from Sacred Heart School in 1951.
On May 8, 1954 she was united in marriage to Bertin Thomas at the Sacred Heart Church in Calumet.
Mary Ann worked in Chicago for Sherwin Williams and in Detroit for Michigan Bell. She returned to the Copper Country to get married and after she was employed at Gately’s Department Store in Calumet. She then received her nurse’s aid training at St. Josephs Hospital and had worked at the Health Department for 30 years retiring in 2007.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Calumet and the VFW Post 3900 Ladies Auxillary.
Mary Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was also an avid Packer fan, who enjoyed watching the Packers play on TV. She also enjoyed playing bingo and spending time at the cottage in Eagle River.
Preceding her in death was her parents, grandson Bemjamin Dimmer and auncle Edward Rozman.

Daughter: Joanne (Charlie) Dennis of 5 Mile Point
5 Grandchildren: Christopher (Angela) Dimmer, Kyle Thomas, Taylor Thomas, Alli Thomas, and Rylan Thomas
4 great grandchildren: Tayler Dimmer, Torianna Dimmer, Jacelyn Dimmer and Annabelle Dimmer
Brother: Joseph (Gen) Lanfraki Sr. of Calumet
Sister: Angeline (Reuben) Moilanen of Calumet
Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Special thanks to special nephew and niece Mike and Andy Kovachich, the staff of Portage Pointe, Omega House, and Home Health and Hospice for the excellent care provided to my dad's wife and our mother during her illness.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday August 12, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Sacred Heart Church with Fr. Abraham Mupparathara to officiate.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet from 9-10:30 AM.
Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery.
The Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet is assisting the family with the arrangements.
