Obituary for Helen Neault (Makela)

Helen “Peku” Neault, a resident of Laurium Housing in Laurium, Michigan passed away on Sunday November 15, 2015.

The former Helen Makela was born on November 11, 1931 at Beacon Hill to John Makela and Edna (Luoma) Makela. She attended Houghton High School and graduated in 1949. After high school, she worked for Cypress Manor as a nurses’ aid. On July 8, 1950, she married Charles Neault at St. Joseph Church in Hancock.

She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church and their altar society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and one infant daughter; Karen Sue.

She is survived by:

Her son Terry (Jayne) Neault of Swedetown

Her daughters: Paulette (Robert) Tarvis of Cedar Bay, Michigan
Bonnie (Francis) Prach of Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Toria (Richard) Parkin of Ahmeek, Michigan

Six grandchildren

Six great-grandchildren

Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A private family funeral service will be held at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet.
Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Ahmeek.
