Obituary for George Irving Turnquist

George Turnquist 84, a resident of Kearsarge passed away on December 18, 2015 at this home in Kearsarge.

He was born on June 25, 1931 in Dollar Bay a son of the late Leonard and Mary (Knechteges) Turnquist. He graduated from Dollar Bay High School with the class of 1949. He later attended MTU receiving his Bachelors Degree in 1960.

He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army in the 816th Field Artillery in Germany form 1952-1954.

He worked for Chrysler Corp. in Detroit, Atlas Powder Co. and for several CPA firms until being self employed as a CPA from 1969-1996.

On August 3, 1956 he was united in marriage to Luella Maynard and she preceded him in death on May 11, 2005.

Also preceding him in death was 2 sisters: Frances Witting and Mary Finnegan, Brother Robert and a son Todd.

Surviving are his Son Scot Turnquist of Arizona

2 Grandchildren: Julia and Teague

Private burial will be in Section 2 of the Lake View Cemetery Calumet, MI.

The Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet is assisting the family with the arrangements.
