Leone Isaacson, 92, a resident of Fulton passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Cypress Manor.

She was born on April 23, 1923 in Fulton, daughter of Charles and Saimi (Siivikko) Kanniainen and foster daughter of Odal and Alina Harju from the age of four.

Leone married Carl Isaacson on March 25, 1944. He preceded her in death on January 7th, 1979.

Leone worked at Oja’s Market in Fulton for 17 years and at the Keweenaw Elementary School for 11 years, retiring in April of 1988.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, foster parents, sisters Hazel Waara and Florence Piirainen, brothers Allan Kanniainen and Edwood Davis.

She is survived by her son Brian (Carol) Isaacson of Fulton, grandchildren Teri (Tom) Haataja of Watertown, MN, Mark (JoLinda) Isaacson of Boston Location, Kurt Isaacson of Chanhassen, MN, Scott Isaacson of Madison, WI, 11 great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church of Fulton on Thursday, December 24, 2015 at 1:00 PM, with Pastor David Taivalkoski to officiate. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time of service at the church on Thursday.

Spring Burial will be at the Lake View Cemetery in Calumet.
