Obituary for Elden Arthur Tervo

Elden A. Tervo peacefully passed to be with his Lord and Savior in the presence of his family in Wausau Wi on Thursday night.

Elden was born in 1932 and grew up on a farm in Salo location in Houghton County. A Hancock High School graduate and Army Veteran, Elden was a life long resident of the Copper Country, where he and wife Rita operated Granter’s Marine in Calumet for 28 years. For the past year, he has been a resident of the Houghton County Medical Care facility.

He is preceded in death by daughter Marsha Tervo and parents John and Helen Tervo and two Grandchildren.

Elden is survived by his wife Rita (Lampela)Tervo his Children, Diane(Karl) Benda, EJ (Kristin) Tervo, Steven (Olga) Tervo, MaryAnn Tervo and her fiancé Scott Sever, Martin (Anita)Tervo, Caroline(Chad) Rajala, Amy Skalsky, brother Clayton Tervo, 30 grand children and 27 great grand children.

A funeral service will be held at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church of Calumet on Monday, April 4, 2016 at 10:00 AM with Pastor David Taivalkoski to officiate.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church of Calumet on Sunday, April 3, 2016. Visitation will also be held prior to the service from 9:00 to 10:00.

Spring Burial will be at the Lake View Cemetery.
