Condolence: So sorry to hear of Esther's passing. She was my Godmother, and a life-long friend of my family's (my parents are Pat & Jim Lassila who live in Houghton. My mom Pat passed away three years ago). Her and Clarence were like grandparents to me, and I'm so saddened that I wasn't able to attend her service. I remember her laughter and smile, and great sense of humor. As I child, I remember playing house in the front porch of her home, and even going to her cabin (Pelkie maybe?) She was able to come to my wedding and my two daughters and I would visit her when she was still living in her home. As you know, Esther was a rare bright spirit who made people happy, and I'm sure she's finally at home and at peach with the rest of her family. Feel free to reach out to me if you would like.
