Eleanor Robertine (Koski) Korri, 94, of Centennial Heights, Calumet, Michigan and Alpena, Michigan went to be with the Lord on August 11, 2016.

Eleanor Robertine Koski was born on March 16, 1922 in Phoenix, Michigan, to the late Jacob and Lydia Koski. She spent her childhood years in Mohawk, Michigan. After attending the Mohawk School, Eleanor Graduated from Calumet High School in 1940. On October 12, 1940 she married Wesley Korri. They celebrated 69 years of marriage, until his passing on February 6, 2010.

Until its close, Eleanor was a member of the National Lutheran Church in Calumet where she served as a Sunday School teacher, treasurer, was active in the Ladies Guild, and sang in the choir. In later years when able she attended St. Paul Lutheran Church in Laurium and Immanuel Lutheran Church in Alpena, Michigan.

Eleanor and Wesley loved the Keweenaw, spending summers at their cottage at Cat Harbor, and later at Eagle Harbor. When their grandsons were born, the boys spent many summers with them at the camp: fishing, trekking and learning the history of the area.

In addition to her parents and husband, Eleanor was preceded in death by her brother Raymond Koski, and her sister Elaine Koski Tucker.

She is survived by her daughters Carol (Robert) Hein of Bellbrook, Ohio and Karen Korri, of Alpena, two grandsons, Peter (Erin) Hein of Dayton, Ohio, Jonathan Hein of St Paul, Minnesota, and two great-grandchildren, Wesley Jacob and Ruby-Wynn Hein of Dayton. She is also survived by her sister Esther Richards of St. Claire Shores, Michigan as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Alan Salmela, Mike Salmela and Marvin Balowaara for the friendship and help they provided over the years to Eleanor and Wesley.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet with pastor Peter Vorhes to officiate.

Family and friends may call at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral home from 12:00 noon until the time of service at 1:00 PM.

Burial will take place at the Lake View Cemetery in Calumet.
