Obituary for Arnold Rudolph Peterson

Arnold R. Peterson, age 83, a lifetime resident Calumet passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 6, 2018 with his family by his side at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility in Hancock.
Arnold was born to Gustav and Cecilia (Kaukkinen) Peterson on March 21, 1935 in Laurium.
He attended Calumet High School graduating with the class of 1953.
He was a member of the First Apostolic Lutheran Church of Calumet.
Arnold was united in marriage to Marianne Sturos on September 3, 1955 in Calumet.
He worked various jobs over the years but primarily did accounting work for different businesses, eventually retiring from McGann’s Building Supply. Arnold was good with his hands making him a jack of all trades, and even known for his cooking. He was also an avid hunter.
Arnold was preceded in death by his Parents, Brothers; Walfred, James, and George, Brother-in-laws; Edward Helminen, and Paul Daavettila, and Son-in-law; Paul Issacson.

94 Grandchildren, 55 Great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will take place at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church of Calumet on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 from 4:00 to 9:00 PM, and also one hour prior to service on Wednesday.
A funeral service will be held at the church on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 11:00 AM with Pastor David Taivalkoski to officiate. Burial will take place at the Lake View Cemetery in Calumet.
