Condolence From: Betsy Aller
Condolence: My sincere condolences for your loss of Keith. He was one of the kindest people I've ever met. My then-husband Ed Kraai and I were skiing at Jacobsville when our dog ran away. We were desperate when we came to Keith's door, asking if they'd seen her. They hadn't, but Keith immediately went out to help look for some strangers' dog, who eventually was found. I also remember my stepdad, Bud Avery, up at Gratiot Lake, talking with great fondness about Keith and how he enjoyed when he'd come up to the lake. Keith was a memorable guy who made a difference to so many people. I wish you all peace and solace and much happiness in your memories.

Condolence From: Darin Moyle
Condolence: Dear Elsa and Family - so sorry to hear this, my deepest sympathies to you. Keith was a wonderful man - I will always remember his smile when he talked to me. My Dad has told me many stories of Keith and him growing up and the things they used to do...especially sports. I have fond memories as a boy going up to the Bicentennial Arena to watch Keith and my Dad play pick up hockey with Reino Aalto in goal. I will never forget those times. Keith will surely be missed by all who knew him...until we meet again on a ball field or ice rink. Darin Moyle and Family

Condolence From: Alan Larsen
Condolence: My memory was jolted when I saw the name Keith Mugford slide across the screen. It brought back memories of when we were at Camp Michigamme together in the mid 1950s. In reading his obituary it appears we would have enjoyed playing fast pitch softball together but of course our paths did not cross after camp. My sympathy and prayers go out to all the family in your loss. Alan Larsen, Michigamme

Condolence From: Allen Hyslop
Condolence: So very sorry to learn of your loss. Keith was an upbeat, decent man,and he will be deeply missed. While it is of little consolation, I offer the following. It speaks to the reality of our condition. Death is nothing at all. It does not count. I have only slipped away into the next room. Nothing has happened. Everything remains exactly as it was. I am I, and you are you, and the old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged. Whatever we were to each other, that we are still. Call me by the old familiar name. Speak of me in the easy way which you always used. Put no difference into your tone. Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without an effort, without the ghost of a shadow upon it. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was. There is absolute and unbroken continuity. What is this death but a negligible accident? Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just round the corner. All is well. Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before. How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting when we meet again!

Condolence: My sympathy goes out to the entire Mugford family. Keith was such a wonderful and caring man. When I had my place in Jacobsville he was always there if I needed help and made my stay out there much easier to handle all alone. He is going to be greatly missed by a lot of people. My heart goes out to his family and ask God to Bless all of you.

Condolence From: Bob Smith
Condolence: Dear Elsa & Family, I was so very saddened to hear of Keith's passing. Over the past several years I was usually able to see you both or at least talk on the phone when I'd get back to the Copper Country for a visit. We always loved to talk about our childhood memories and of course old mutual friends and sports. As a Detroit sports fan we obviously didn't agree on much but had a lot of fun teasing each other about our favorite teams. As a kid I will always remember how much I bragged about my "older" good athlete cousin to anyone who would listen. Despite going to different high schools and being on "opposite sides of the ball" so to say he always encouraged me and cared about me. I will always remember his genuine interest in our family heritage and so many other things we had in common. I will always miss him. With deepest sympathies, your cousin, Bob Smith & family.
