Charles Bonen, 80, a resident of Laurium passed away on Friday, January 29, 2021, at U.P Health System Marquette.
He was born on December 31, 1940, in Butler, PA a son of the late Roy and Ann (Zapotechne) Bonen.
He attended the St. Cecelia School in Hubbell and graduated from Lake Linden Hubbell High School with the class of 1959.
Charles was a veteran having served in the U.S. Air Force.
On May 27, 1967, he was married to Margaret Miller, and she preceded him in death on February 3, 2016
Locally Charles worked for C&H in the copper mines.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, hunting, fishing and spending time with the coffee clutch crew.
Preceding him in death was his daughter Becky Bonen in 1994.
Surviving are: daughter Brenda Bonen of Laurium
Sons: Brad (Katie Koljonen) Bonen of Laurium and Brian ( Laura) Bonen of Laurium
8 grandchildren: Caleb, Jacob, Tyler, Sophie, and Dominic Bonen. Sage, Salanna, and Natalia Peltka
A spring graveside service will be held in the Lake View Cemetery.
The Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet is assisting the family with the arrangements.
