Obituary for Annette Louise Antilla

Annette Louise "Netsie" Antilla, 82, of Ahmeek MI and resident of Canal View, peacefully passed away surrounded by her beloved family on early Sunday morning, March 5th, 2023.

She was born on February 5, 1941 in Laurium a daughter of the late Arne and Lila (Ahonen) Ervast.

Annette worked in the food service industry, holding various positions such as Keweenaw Mountain Lodge, Calumet Housing, and Stillwaters.

Netsie had many passions and enjoyed the small things in life. Annette had a creative side, finding herself immersed in art and even attended the Chicago Art Institute. She always loved her Sundays, which consisted of visits from her family. These visits always included laughter, bonding and lots of love. She enjoyed drives with a destination to anywhere, and it was always a bonus to shop at walmart with her daughter Tammie or a casino trip with her daughter Jodie on those rides. When her daughter Amy moved home for good, she always enjoyed basking in the sun outside and in her big garage with Amy and her family, while petting little Boze. There was nothing more relaxing than a beer and conversation, especially with her daughter Heidie. And she always took an opportunity to spend special bonding time and traveling with her son Jesse.

Annette was very proud of all of her grandchildren: Callie (Logan), Ryan, Megan (Brett), Julia, Jaycie, Coy, Caitlin, McKenna, Mikah and Kristian. She always looked forward to their successes, and was so tickled to witness two of their marriages. Her absolute favorite memories usually consisted of an entire room full of the whole family together, and she surely beamed each day it took place. That was her biggest accomplishment: raising a beautiful family.

Preceding her in death was an infant brother Michael, and her parents.

Annette is survived by the following: Tammie (Greg) Budweg, Heidie (Matt) Lean, Amy (Jim) Kotajarvi, Jodie (Neil) Marietta, son Jesse (Charity) Hauring, sister Marilyn Lightfoot, and sister Carrie (Bill) Newman. She is also survived by multiple nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends and family.
