Betty Edson, 88, a resident of Laurium and former Owosso resident passed away on Sunday January 3, 2010 at her daughter’s home in Laurium.
She was born on July 9, 1921 in Owosso a daughter of the late J ohn and Nellie (Rogers) Diehl.
She was married to Pat Raymond in 1939 and he preceded her in death in 1953, she later married Floyd Edson in 1956 and he preceded her in death in 1992.
She graduated from Durand High School with her daughter Patty in the class of 1969.
Family was of the utmost of importance to Betty and she loved the time she spent with her family. Also her church was a vital part of her life and for 50 years has been a member of the United Methodist Church in Durand.
Betty loved to read, crochet and word search puzzles.
Betty had a feisty spirit and usually won the loving arguments she had with her family.
Preceding her in death was her grandson Cody Semke, son Bill, an infant son, a sister Joanne, an infant brother and 2 half brothers.

Daughter in law: Deb Schnick of Corunna, MI
12 Grandchildren
20 Great Grandchildren
1 Great Great Granddaughter
Brother: Bob (June) Diehl of California
Sisters: Maryann Sills of Lapeer, MI
Barbara Dangler of Coldwater, MI
Many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services and burial will be held in Owosso, Michigan in April.
The Erickson Crowley Funeral Home in Calumet is assisting the family with the arrangements.
