Grace M. Turovaara of Laurium, MI passed away on November 24, 2015.
Grace was a lifelong resident of the Calumet/Laurium area. She was born in Calumet, MI to William and Annie (Bray) Chynoweth. She graduated from Calumet High School and was then employed by the J.J. Newberry Co. of Calumet for 13½ years
Grace was united in marriage to John L. Turovaara in 1952, and they were married for 56 years before he preceded her in death in 2008.
Grace was a member of the Community Church of Calumet until its closing in 2009, and then she found a new church home at the Lake Linden Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Laurium Senior Citizen Center and played many games of pinochle there.
Grace was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, 5 brothers (William, Wilbert, Raymond, Clarence, and Russell), and 1 sister (Myrtle LaCarter).
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Turovaara, and numerous nieces and nephews.
At Grace’s request, there will be no funeral service.
